Q: Mady, what first drew you to Pocky & Rocky Reshrined?
Mady: I've always been a fan of TAITO games like Darius and Bubble Bobble so naturally I got curious about their other games and picked up Pocky & Rocky. The blend of old-school gameplay and new features in Reshrined really caught my eye; I like games that have a retro yet modern feel.
Q: And Thiago, as a canine gamer, what’s your take on the game?
Thiago: Woof! (Mady translates: Thiago loves the fast-paced action. He thinks the multiplayer mode is perfect because he can join in as Rocky while I play as Pocky. It’s a great way for us to bond. It's really twice the fun with a friend, so definitely try out the co-op!)
Q: That sounds like a lot of fun! Mady, which part of the game did you find most challenging?
Mady: The whole game is really challenging, but I especially liked the boss battles. They’re bigger and more challenging than I would have thought, and you really need to strategize and react quickly. Plus, playing in co-op mode means you have to work well together, which adds another layer of challenge.
Q: What would you say to other players considering picking up Pocky & Rocky Reshrined?
Mady: If you love action games and are up for a challenge, this is the game for you. It’s not just about shooting; it’s about strategy, quick reflexes, and teamwork. Plus, it’s a blast from the past with a modern twist, so there’s something for both new and veteran gamers.
Q: Mady, I understand you have a fondness for games that blend retro vibes with a modern twist. How does Pocky & Rocky Reshrined fit into that preference, and what other games do you enjoy from the developer?
Mady: Absolutely, I love when classic gameplay gets a contemporary upgrade. Pocky & Rocky Reshrined hits that sweet spot perfectly. It was developed by Tengo Project, who are known for revitalizing classic games. I already played their other titles like The Ninja Saviors and Wild Guns Reloaded, which both wonderfully reimagine the original experiences with updated graphics and expanded gameplay. And I'm really looking forward to their upcoming release, Shadow of the Ninja: Reborn, which promises to continue this trend of modernizing beloved classics.
